Gimbal Metal Expansion Joint

A Gimbal Metal Expansion Joint combines a metal bellows with a gimbal assembly. The gimbal guides the bellows to produce controlled angular movement in multiple planes while restricting movement outside the intended directions.

Compared with a hinged product that moves mainly within one plane, the gimbal structure is more suitable for three-dimensional piping layouts. It can be used when equipment interfaces are not located in the same plane or when the pipeline changes direction in several spatial positions.

The main structure can be manufactured from stainless steel or alloy materials. Connection options include flanges and end pipes. The product can also be used together with other expansion joint types to form a more complex displacement compensation system.

The gimbal assembly allows the bellows to create angular movement in two intersecting planes. For large industrial pipelines, two or more gimbal units can be combined to convert thermal pipeline movement into controlled angular displacement.

For energy engineering or chemical installations, the arrangement can be designed according to equipment interface direction, pipeline height differences, and spatial turns. Pipe diameter, flange dimensions, component direction, and connection length can all be adjusted according to the piping design.

Customized production normally requires two to three months. Projects involving special alloys, complex gimbal structures, or dedicated tooling should be scheduled according to the confirmed design.

Photos or videos can be supplied during production. Small packages or wooden cases can be selected according to the product dimensions. For repeat orders with unchanged materials, structure, and manufacturing processes, delivery can generally be arranged about 15 days faster than the first order.
