An Externally Pressurized Stainless Steel Bellows is designed for operating conditions where external pressure is higher than internal pressure, the internal space is under vacuum, or a clear pressure difference exists between the inside and outside of the component.

Unlike conventional bellows working mainly under internal pressure, this product must be designed according to a different force direction. The corrugation profile, effective length, number of plies, and reinforcement structure are selected around external pressure and vacuum stability.

The bellows can be manufactured as a single-ply or multi-ply structure. Its dimensions can be adjusted according to the equipment interface, installation direction, available space, and actual pressure difference.

 

Stability-Focused Structural Design

 

The inner diameter can be designed from Φ6 mm. Available materials include stainless steel and high-temperature alloy materials. The reference temperature range is -193°C to 1050°C.

 

This temperature range should not be used as the only selection basis. The actual operating temperature must be confirmed according to the material grade, pressure level, process medium, wall thickness, number of plies, welding structure, and complete product design.

 

Different corrugation dimensions or reinforcement structures may be used to reduce the risk of instability under external pressure. The Externally Pressurized Stainless Steel Bellows can also be supplied with different lengths and customized end connections.

 

It may be used as an independent flexible element in vacuum or pressure-balancing equipment. It can also serve as the main flexible component of an externally pressurized metal expansion joint for axial displacement compensation and longer installation spaces.

 

Information Required Before Production

 

For accurate structural confirmation, purchasers should provide internal pressure, external pressure, design temperature, process medium, installation position, axial movement, equipment interface dimensions, and interface load conditions.

 

The technical team can review whether a single-ply, multi-ply, or reinforced design is more suitable. The corrugation profile and end dimensions can then be adjusted according to the equipment drawing and installation space.

 

The factory has hydroforming, metal welding, non-standard component processing, and pressure testing capabilities. Inspection is arranged during raw material cutting, welding, forming, assembly, and finished-product acceptance. Every product is inspected before packaging.

 

For projects involving external pressure or vacuum testing, the test conditions, acceptance method, and qualification requirements should be confirmed in advance through the approved drawing or technical agreement. Customer-arranged third-party inspection is supported.

 

Applications, Ordering, and Support

 

This product is suitable for vacuum systems, pressure-balancing devices, externally pressurized expansion joints, equipment sealing chambers, and special process piping.

 

OEM and ODM services are available. Products can be manufactured according to technical drawings or existing prototypes. The minimum order quantity is one piece, which supports equipment trials, maintenance replacement, and non-standard engineering projects.

Customized products generally require two to three months for production. Orders involving special materials, larger quantities, or new tooling also normally require two to three months. Progress photos or videos can be supplied during production.

 

Packaging options include small packages and wooden cases. EXW and FOB delivery terms are available. Technical assistance can be provided by phone, online communication, or on-site support. The product is supplied with a six-month industry warranty.
